{boots!}
It was one of those rare occasions when I went looking for something specific and emerged victorious, purchasing exactly what I wanted and nothing else. Round toed, good leather, flat boots that fit perfectly. I've been wearing them at least 3 out of 4 days since I found them.
{boots!}
They were originally $268 at Anthro, marked down to $150 and I got the additional 25% post Christmas discount, so they were $112. But honestly, they would have been worth it at the original price, for the wear I plan to get out of them. Which I think should be a good rule of thumb for me - don't buy something on sale if you wouldn't buy it at full price.
scoring the perfect pair of boots is quite possibly the most satisfying shopping experience out there. well done!
ReplyDeleteI love the way round-toed, flat boots look on women; it seems a bit strange and unnatural the way the styles are often oriented towards heeled and pointy boots that don't look particularly practical or comfy.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's worth paying a premium price if you are buying something high-quality that fits just right. I bought a pair of heavy-duty winter boots from Red Wing Shoes several years back, not on sale, and they just seemed too expensive, I almost didn't buy them. But they were just what I wanted.
Now? I'm wearing the boots into their fourth winter, and I've walked long distances in them in salty, slushy, dirty city conditions, and they have held their waterproof seal, show barely any visible wear, and are still super comfy. I'm realizing that sometimes, you get what you pay for!
A victorious shopping excursion ranks right up there with finally mastering the perfect cheesecake recipe, in my opinion. It's often an allusive and lofty goal, but the work to get to that point is quickly paid off when you actually find it. Well done. :)

ReplyDeletei've never been one to invest heavily in boots, but for my first winter in ontario i decided it would be a good idea. i'm so glad i got real leather with a good water-resistance... they are amazing in the snow & indescribably better than any synthetic $50 boots i could have bought. yours are gorgeous!
