Not pictured - lunch at umami burger (finally! - and it is as good as everyone has been telling us), longest baby shower I've ever attended (5 hours at least, but it was more fun because it wasn't exclusively female and it felt more like a regular party) and a catch up brunch with old friends that lingered on into the afternoon and ended with a walk to yogurtland.
those baby showers can get lengthy. all those presies to be opened.
ReplyDeletebeautiful weekend, as usual. i love meeting up with old friends, it's the best.
ReplyDeletei know what you mean about the camera feeling a little disruptive sometimes... i miss out on some great photos because i don't want to be that crazy lady who always has her camera out. kiwi rolls his eyes when he sees me putting it in my purse :)
Your weekend looks perfect, and those tomatoes- they look delicious!
ReplyDeleteSounds nice... though what a marathon of a baby shower. You're a patient lady! I'd love to try the umami veggie burger!!
ReplyDeletewhile i'm a little jealous you went to umami without me, it sounds like it won't be too hard to persuade you to try it again :)
ReplyDeletelovely pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteyes, agreed about the camera feeling a bit disruptive in some people moments. i feel so wrong in those times when i pull it out only to realize that people feel obligated to pose and the real moment is gone. so i think your lovely still lifes are sometimes even more helpful in capturing a memorable time.
Rachel, what is that cool coffee apparatus you've got? I thought I was content with my French press, but that thing looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteAlso, those vegetables reminded me to thank you: I was inspired by your previous CSA posts and joined one this year. Washing and prepping veggies is now my own favorite weekend routine.
Oooo I've never heard of Umami burger, I'll have to put that on the "to try" list! :) Yogurtland is the best too. Love the coffee photos!
ReplyDeletelove the veggies so colourfull. How does your coffee maker work?
ReplyDelete@ Maddie and sabje - The coffee maker is the Bodum Santos (see it here). We just received it as a gift recently but we used to have an electrical version that we loved until it died. I'm hoping the stovetop one lasts us a long time. It's delicate, so we'll have to be careful. But it makes such amazing coffee. Strong but not at all bitter.
ReplyDeleteAnd Maddie, I'm so glad that you're doing a CSA as well! I just switched to a new one that I absolutely love. Should post about it again.
i wish i could walk to a land of yogurt!
ReplyDeleteLove that coffee maker! I just watched an old movie with Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy (Woman of the Year) that had a similar coffee maker!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, sounds like a lovely weekend. And now I'm craving a burger!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeletenom nom at the fruit. and wow - 5 hours? that's a baby shower!
ReplyDeleteHey Lovely!

Weekends through your lens always look so lovely :) I, too, want to hear more about that coffee maker. Absolutely charming.
ReplyDeleteThe truffle burger at umami is incredible. It totally rivals Father's Office.
