Luckily they are also lovely in their own right.

Lovely enough to convince me to share a rare vertical picture. (The obsessive side of me hates that vertical photos don't fill the entire width of the column, but I love that you can see the lip of the glass jar here - it's one of my thrifted apothecary jars.)

And to keep shooting as the light crept away and dusk settled in. The days are growing shorter.

They smell good too.
I had delphinium in my wedding flowers so this post is bringing back lovely memories for me! Such a gorgeous rich color.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, as always!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you know you can tweak your blog to make everything the same width, regardless of height? I can help if you need any :)
Have a great weekend!
hahaha I hear you on the vertical photos thing... gorgeous as always though!
ReplyDeleteyes, same same on those vertical shots--but this one is worth it. and i'm a sucker for the sink shot, too. lovely.

ReplyDeletedelphinium are my absolute faves. they were in my bridesmaid's bouquets, and i have to admit i was a little bummed that they weren't in mine.
ReplyDeleteyou have a great eye for photography!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way w/ vertical pictures! Beautiful images, regardless.

ReplyDeletethe days are growing shorter indeed. but beautiful flowers like those keep things bright.

ReplyDeleteVertical photos can be wonderful... give them a chance more often :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous, i've never even heard of half the flowers you blog about!
ReplyDelete& the name is very fun :)
How do you deal with the bugs on your flowers? I recently bought a bouquet of celosias from the farmer's market and I can't handle the little bugs I keep seeing on them
ReplyDeletegreat shots! i love still seeing the bright colors amongst all the reds and oranges of fall :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the vertical shots; sometimes ya just gotta go for em!
@ HC - I haven't really had a problem with bugs on flowers. There are sometimes little garden spiders when I pick roses, but that's it.
ReplyDeleteI did once pick up some tropical flowers that must have been a magnet for ants! I ended up throwing them out because it was driving me crazy. So maybe it's the specific species of flower?
What a beautiful series! Purple is one of my favorite colors and these flowers are just so danity and girly I love it!
