Easter tree

This is my little Easter tree. It is actually a jewelry hanger from Urban Outfitters, but we bought it last year for our painted eggs.

They are from Prague and they make me very happy.

P.S. We Americans have nothing on Europeans when it comes to Easter. They do it right. In Prague they have special street markets with fun goods (wooden tulips and handpainted eggs!) and seasonal treats like grilled dough for at least a month leading up to it. In Greece they have rabble rousing candle lit parades through the streets at midnight and gorgeous crimson eggs. We need to get on this, people.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I'll have to get on the band wagon for hyping up the funness factor of Easter here :)

  7. it's so true - one of my college roommates came from a big russian orthodox family, and their brunches knocked it out of the park every year (and instilled in me a dangerous affection for zubrowka). i love your tree - happy weekend to you as well, lady!

  12. What a neat way to decorate for this holiday... And change it out for the others.

Hubby and I are so anxious to make it over to Prague. The first time I was in Europe, our Praque plans fell through due to the rail being underwater. Haven't quite made it back yet. Patiently waiting...

    Happy EASTER weekend!

  14. Your tree is adorable! I'm surprised that more isn't done in the US for Easter, considering we've commercialized the crap out of every other holiday! Haha. I will be celebrating with a lovely little brunch and a night at the Britney Spears concert. YESSS. :)

    Happy Easter! xo

And I so agree with you about Easter in Europe. I lived in Spain during this time and they had parades through the street and festivals. It was an amazing experience!

  16. I love your little Easter tree.

I hear you about Americans not doing it right. Vienna has stores and stores of beautiful Easter eggs all year round.

  18. How beautiful. I love the tea cups piled high in the background. Grilled dough sounds yummy - is it anything like English fried bread? (I love that!)

  27. Oh how I would love to travel to Europe during the Easter season one of these years! Easter in America is totally lacking...anything involving plastic grass has some serious issues...

  30. I agree, Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I wish people were more into it. I love Easter because its a holiday about food and crafting! Lucky for me, my friends tolerate me planning semi extravagant easter soirees complete with egg decorating sessions.
