In the meantime, here are some cheery daffodils.

From one of the days last week when the sun actually decided to peek his head out.

I love backlighting, for some reason. It gives you that magical light effect. Or it just ruins your pictures. You've pretty much got a 50/50 shot.
Is it spring yet for any of you?
Yes! It is supposed to flirt with 70* today in Chicago. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
It has been about 5 months of winter here. I even took a trip to Cuba in February and the weather there was crappy too! It is beautiful today and I am soooo thankful for it. Ahhh, sun!
ReplyDeleteUp in the Catskill Mountains its trying to be spring, really trying, when I get a hint of nice weather the urge to plant something takes over.... but unfortunately the vegetation death toll is higher than the success rate.... so far.
ReplyDeletei'm with you on the backlighting - fickle, but so very worth it when it decides to cooperate. i think we've finally kicked into spring here - for me, it's taking serious willpower to post anything other than cherry blossoms, one shot after another. this is when new york re-woos the locals.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It is a perfect early spring day here in NYC (I didn't even wear a coat - wha?!). I desperately want to runaway from the office and soak up the sun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
aw, the perfect pictures for spring. weather's supposed to be lovely this weekend so i can't wait!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend! These images warm the cockles of my heart!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Rachel, that second picture is beautiful : )

LOL so true about backlighting - it can be so very magical
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda spring here! But we do have a forecast of snow for early next week...I'm really hoping that it doesn't snow though. It's been warm here, finally, and it would be nice if it stayed that way!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, they sure feel like Spring!
oh, beautiful photos!! I love the backlighting:)
ReplyDeleteAlmost spring here--the snow we received this past week finally melted and I am too scared to look at the forecast to see if more is coming!
It's getting to be spring here, in Virginia. I'm thrilled! These photos are so warm and make me want to go pick up a bunch of daffs, myself!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Rachel.
i looove daffodils.
ReplyDeleteand backlighting.
i'd say they're pretty much equal. :)
Love daffodils and that vase is very cool. Spring is fully here in Texas... and I expect after our huge downpours this weekend, the flowers will all be in full effect by next week!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend. Hope the sun comes out for you!
Your photographs are so pretty. It looks like spring in the Bay Area, but then you go outside and the wind messes up your hair and nearly blows you over. Fun times... :)
ReplyDeleteits pouring rain here today so I am loving these beautiful cheery happy images. thanks!!
ReplyDeleteOooh gorgeous photos rachel - I am a big fan of backlighting and I especially love the second photo, so pretty with the bluey bokeh. Not much sun around here either - though that's not unusual in the UK! Hope you have a lovely weekend I'm going to read your lemon post now! :)
ReplyDeletemellow yellow here. love the back lit - dappled light is so pretty!
ReplyDeletelove the photos and the bright yellow. makes it feel more like spring!
ReplyDeletei am seeing daffodils everywhere and i love it... i was at the grocery store this week and they had a sale on bouquets of daffodils ($1.99), and i thought "is there anything else i could spend $1.99 on that would make me even half as happy as fresh daffodils?". obviously the answer was no. now my apartment smells like spring. best decision ever.
ReplyDeleteStill chilly at night here, but daytime is covered with flowers! I love the smell of daffodils. They smell like my childhood.
ReplyDeletei love backlighting too. it makes people look like an angels. love your blog,

Beautiful photographs. We have that amazing sunlight here too, that autumn light before it fades to winter.
