I feel quiet today, hence the late post. It is drizzly here, in the most comforting sort of way. I am happy to be ensconced in my cozy office, working on the computer and puttering around in the lab, getting ready for Monday. A good day for coffee.
I'm really looking forward to getting home, changing into sweats and indulging in oodles of TV watching. I am a dork, but I was sooo excited this week, because Flight of the Conchords started up again, along with Big Love. I am completely addicted. I also saved the new episode of Lost. And I might be watching Grey's Anatomy, but don't tell anyone, because it's embarrassing (Izzy has been having an affair with a ghost - not for one episode, but for so many that I have lost count - which I think is an all new low).
Plans for the weekend include lots of cooking, and possibly a bit of furniture refinishing. Possibly. Depending on how lazy I am.
UPDATE: What the hell, Grey's Anatomy? Please tell me you are going to go uphill from here. P.S. Forcing me to watch Private Practice next week is not going to endear me to either of you. Why is that show even still on?
this is exactly the kind of day it is here too. i feel very peaceful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good way to spend a winter weekend.
ReplyDeleteI vote for lots of tv watching (yea, return of Lost!) and put off the furniture refinishing for another weekend. :)
Oh, sounds like a great way to start a drizzly day! I love spending weekends cooking--I always try things that I are way to hard for me to not screw up but it is fun none the less.
ReplyDeleteI am also ashamed of my Grey's Anatomy watching. But what else are you gonna do while you fold laundry.
ReplyDeleteI thought Flight of the Concords got off to kind of a bummer start. The show will just never be as this:

Sigh.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment on my post today, it was just what I needed to hear :)
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to have a stellar weekend, deary!
XOXO
Oh, Miz R, don't be so hard on yourself about tv. It's comfort food, you know? (I'm addicted to Grey's Anatomy, too, and deeply troubled by this plot device, especially after this last episode. Let me know what you think after you see it.)
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, I think your gloomy day plan is very nice. I hope there is lots of hot cocoa in your future and I'm sending sunny thoughts.
Oh I love days like that - you just need some cuddle time!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I also ashamedly watch Grey's. Izzy is getting a bit ridiculous, if you ask me. I don't know why they brought him back.
ReplyDeleteI wish I got HBO so I could watch Flight of the Conchords. That would be swell.
Yes, I totally agree. It's just what happens this time in January.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend - I'm glad I'm not the only one planning to lounge around and watch tv. Oh, and if your furniture refurnishing is that huge sand-sprayed table - then maybe you better leave that for another time - it seems like a huge job!
ReplyDeleteyour title made me all warm and fuzzy inside! i've got the same plans for this evening and will be indulging in Lost and Damages, but alas, no more Grey's Anatomy. have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI thought Grey's took a turn for the BETTER this week, because as a die hard fan, even I admit the ghost story was getting a little far-fetched. Now it's more tragic. I can do tragic.
ReplyDeleteHave fun watching some tube! Huge fan of FOTC too!
ooo i love Big LOve!! i haven't seen the first episode yet, i dvr'ed it :)
ReplyDeletewell, you will be in for a welcome surprise this week on Greys.
ReplyDeleteI will get addicted to these new shows as I will be moving to a house that has HBO. Woot!
what do you think of the newest development on greys? i saw it coming a mile away, particularly when she insulted the Greys writers, saying the writing wasn't worthy of any awards (c'mon, everyone knows not to piss off the writers!)..
ReplyDeleteand on top of that, i heard that she asked to be written out of the show because she wants to do movies instead. y'know. cause Knocked Up was such a huge hit (?).
We LOVE watching F of C. So glad that is on again!! I bought my husband a poster of theirs for his music studio(which reminds me, I need to frame it). :) cheers
ReplyDeleteHi! I see your little icon commenting on pretty much all of the blogs I read and clicked over here today. I am happy I did!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling the same way. I just have lots of homework to do! That's ok, it's basketry and shibori. Really, I can't complain.
Brittany
hope your weekend was cosy and filled with many hours of productive television time...xo t
ReplyDeleteI like it when it rains a little in the LA area...
ReplyDeleteMaybe we could meet some day? I moved to LA recently and would love to meet fellow bloggers!
yay for drizzly days and staying in and coffee and the new season of lost.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I know you wrote this post ages ago but somehow i missed it.
ReplyDelete1. I WANT a pair of woven pants! Did I miss the memo about women weaving? do you weave? am i less of a woman because I don't? i'm feeling so insecure now.
2. um, even though it's totally creepy and weird and I know I'm supposed to be morally and ethically against it, I want to be the fourth wife!
3. every week i tell the huz that THIS week grey's will be better, THIS week the weird denny ghost will be gone, THIS week it will all work out. and every week, the show sucks a little bit more. and it used to be SO GOOD!
We should totally swap fave TV shows---did you watch Summer Heights High when it aired on HBO? HI-larious!
