I've been seriously absent here lately, but I'm still around. Part of it is that we've had a bit of an overwhelming last couple of months with family stuff and I'm worn down, part of it is that when I do have some spare time the last thing I feel like doing is sitting down at the computer and editing photos.

I will do it, soon. I miss it and I want to catch up.*

In the meantime, I have a little interview up on Jacquelyn's lovely blog where I'm sharing a few of my favorite things. Go check it out, and I'll be back, hopefully this week.

* Mostly about summer TV. There are burning questions here. Are you watching Episodes already? Because the second season is killing it. Are you as bummed out about True Blood as I am right now? Does the fact that I haven't managed to watch a single episode of the new season of Project Runway mean that I'm over it forever or should I catch up?

  2. i have times like these too :) it's important to take time to just relax & absorb life! ps, i'm loving eos lipbalm right now, it's great for really dry lips and the scents are wonderful! i'm really picky & this one really works for me, and it is more natural. http://evolutionofsmooth.com/products/lipbalm-sphere/

  4. i've felt spoiled to have had you to chat with on twitter this summer; it's like having a tiny owl on my shoulder to advise me on dresses and dinner. that said, i miss heart of light as well; you do what you need to do, and we'll be here when you orbit back around.

    1. Honestly, twitter has probably made it easier for me to be absent - I still have you, just in 140 character bites.

  7. I'm about ready to do my own disappearing act. I'm tired and need a control-alt-delete.

As for True Blood, yes, I'm horrifically disappointed. There's too much violence and nudity that has no point other than to scandalize. I'm not scandalized--I'm embarrassed! I'm not embarrassed in a prude way, either. More like I want to wave my hands in front of the TV and say softly, "Oh, honey. No. Just stop."

The cheap takeout chopstick through the back of an immensely powerful immortal creature wearing a windbreaker might have been my breaking point. (And by the way, I NEVER saw that coming.) (False.)

    1. Oh my god, that was SO BAD. It's just awkward. I mean, I still watch it. I'll watch it the whole way through, I'm sure. I have a compulsion to finish things.

    2. I won't stop watching. It would take A LOT to make me stop. I've read book series I've hated all the way through to the end. It's a sickness.

I watched Mad Men last season even though the first episode with the bra-and-panty house cleaning nearly gave me fits. Luckily, that season improved after the initial womp-womp.

  8. What esb said.

And, absolutely, you're missed around these parts, but I think most everyone will just be glad when you are back, so take your sweet time.

  9. Episodes is fantastic! Such a good show. My new favourite is The Newswroom though. So brilliant!

True Blood has been disappointing. Nearly at the point where I want to give up on it. Same with Breaking Bad too. I feel like hardly anything happens in it now!

    1. Last week's episode of Breaking Bad got my heart racing! I like some good old-fashioned suspense.

    2. Breaking Bad has been hit or miss for me this season too. I agree with nicole that last week was pretty good, though.

So glad you're liking Episodes, Danelle!

  10. Was just dropping by to say I missed the blog, and here you are. I hope things resolve and the distance from dispensable things helps.

  11. It's needed sometimes. I don't have the following you do (since I think only about 20 people know it exists) but I had to stop this spring/summer too. Everything was just too much and I had absolutey zero desire to write about any of it, or anything else. Sending good thoughts for the family stuff that's been going on, hoping things settle down for you soon. xox

    1. Thanks, dear! The internet always needs to take second place to actual life, so I think it's healthy for us all to take breaks as needed.

  12. I feel you on that one, this summer has been insane for me, especially at my day job, which makes it that much harder to come home and be creative! TB is definitely not keeping my attention as much. Ditto on the awesomeness that is Newsroom, worth watching if you loved West Wing. This season of Project Runway has some really killer designers, so it's worth catching up (just fast forward through the drama bits!). :)

    1. It's embarrassing, but I never watched the West Wing! Didn't have a TV when that was out and then never caught up with it. I think we should Netflix it.

We saw the first episode of Newsroom and liked it but then ran out of time. I think I'll go back and catch up.
