{cauliflower}
Over the weekend, I tossed a head of cauliflower and a couple chopped potatoes with some olive oil and a few spoonfuls of cumin, turmeric, coriander, sea salt and a dash of cayenne. Roasted at 400 degrees until tender. Probably 30 - 45 minutes, but I honestly can't tell you because I was doing other stuff the whole time.
{cauliflower + potatoes, roasted}
Other stuff like hand printing napkins. The one above is a teeny tiny sneak peek at a set that I've been planning to introduce to the shop for the last six months. Have had all the supplies for the last three months. Finally got some printed over the weekend. Hopefully it won't be another three months before I manage to get them listed.
My mom steams broccoli and then puts it in the blender with butter and (I think) a splash of milk or cream. Salt, pepper... No kidding, it tastes almost exactly like mashed potatoes! I think it's a recipe from the South Beach Diet or something. Whatever, it's really delicious!
ReplyDeleteTry this..so yummy! http://www.elleinadspir.com/2010/04/food-glorious-food-part-3.html. It's my fav way to use cauliflower. You can make it with or without the chicken.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever make mashed cauliflower? Oh my goodness...with enough butter, it's like mashed potatoes, but more delicate. It's delicious.
ReplyDeleteOoops, just saw Vanessa's comment above...she beat me to it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what excites me more: The cauliflower or the napkins...
ReplyDeletein the last year we've gotten a lot of mileage out of a food network feta and cauliflower frittata recipe - with a bit of pimenton thrown in at the end, it's a perfect, easy dinner. can't wait to see more of your napkins - big ups on how you've styled the one here!
ReplyDeletei only ever roast cauliflower too... i've tried other ways but i never like it as much!
ReplyDeletethose napkins are awesome. awesome enough to make me want to maybe try to eat cauliflower....
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see them in the shop!
i don't usually do cauliflowers unless there's a lot of butter and garlic involved. these look great, as does that adorable napkin!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE roasted cauliflower. I'm gonna try this ;)
ReplyDeleteI made this cauliflower recipe for Thanksgiving last year - it's a little finicky for a roasted vegetable recipe, but outrageously delicious. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/11/dining/112srex.html
ReplyDeleteyum. and those napkins are darling. can't wait to see them in the shop.

WOMAN, that's PHOOL GOBI! Like, my favorite masala dish up here in the Himalizzles! If you want to make it even more Indian, get a saute pan all hot and oily and throw in a ton of diced onion, chopped tomats, finely chopped ginger, and then throw in your roasted cauli and taters at the end. HEAVEN. And the napkins couldn't be cuter.
ReplyDeleteYou should try making your cauliflower into a gratin sometime... add a little nutmeg and a greyere cheese sauce and you're good to go! Trust me, it's decadent and so, so delicious. You won't regret it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Both the food and the napkins!
ReplyDeleteWe have roasted cauliflower at least twice a week.. I love it. Luckily, Tyler is also a convert.
ReplyDeleteI love that napkin! Adorable!!
