I have a looong post up over on 100 Layer Cake
right now, giving my take on wedding planning/budgeting. We ended up not really having a wedding budget. Yep. Hop over and check it out and feel free to ask questions in the comments. If you like, I can expand on the budget stuff over here sometime in the future. We did put a lot of thought into our non-budget, as weird as that sounds.
awesome, logical advice. i'm planning my DIY-heavy wedding now. it's nice to hear from someone who has been through the process already. thanks :)ReplyDelete
oh rachel-- i am fairly certain i could never tire of reading your smart & logical, well-explained and executed advice. i think you somehow manage to have the perfect balance of left- and right- brain… if that makes any sense. [scientist by day, crafter by night.. yes?] i love it.ReplyDelete
and ps- your wedding was stunning.
Thank you so much for this, Rachel! I found you through 100 Layer Cake and just in time!ReplyDelete
I am a craft stylist and illustrator and of course I have been going into our wedding planning thinking that I (or one of my stylist pals) will be making pretty much everything by hand. I am going to try and spare myself (and my fiance and my friends) some serious stress and heed your advice. Seeing how gorgeous your wedding turned out gives me hope that it can still turn out lovely, personal and handmade by making just a few strong design choices and projects and not putting us in debt. Phew!
