The garden roses are back in full force. They really are special.
Jules wrote about roses last week and I've been thinking about them ever since. It's so sad that the store bought variety seem diluted and wan compared to the homegrown ones.
These are the real deal. They scent the entire apartment. They make me happy.

These are the real deal. They scent the entire apartment. They make me happy.
Isn't it amazing how different they are? Home grown are just so much better! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletei love the huge grand florabundas! gorgeous light too
ReplyDeleteThey would make me happy too! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI must thank you for this feature - every week, I see your beautiful flowers and I wonder - why don't I ever buy flowers for our house?
ReplyDeleteSo starting last week, I'm treating myself to a bunch from the Thursday farmer's market. Brightens up my day!
Lucky, lucky you!!
ReplyDeleteThe white and pink one is my favorite. I love to garden but I'm so afraid of roses. Seems they take a lot of patience and care.
ReplyDeleteAh, roses. You know how I feel about them.
ReplyDelete@Hannah--they are actually very low upkeep and they flourish in our hot, dry weather. All you have to do to make roses happy is feed them occasionally, prune them down heavily in January, and clip some roses off the bush throughout the year, which you wouldn't be able to resist doing anyway. :)
agh, they're like bio-ombre! gorgeous, and they make me miss my mom's roses.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful end to the week. Thanks for sharing! Got me thinking how I can't wait for ours to bloom again this summer too!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. I think one of the best things about growing roses is picking them and putting them in a pretty vase =)

These are really pretty! I enjoy all of the slim, simple vases you use.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Roses. I hope to have a little garden of my own one day... apartment life just doesn't allow for it at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI used to put together arrangements with hundreds of roses in them, and now I'm even more impressed with the single garden rose floating in a crystal goblet on my table. Especially since SiSi picked the rose (more like grabbed it and broke it off the plant) :)
ReplyDeleteThese make me ache for space to grow things. Just beautiful and I agree home grown makes such a difference. I love your Friday flowers posts, they make me happy too!
ReplyDeleteJust looking at those brightens up my day.
ReplyDeleteI bet they smell amazing!
ReplyDeleteI agree about garden roses vs store roses. The ones from the garden are so much better.
