{freesia, table}
They're one of my favorites so I couldn't resist even though they seem a bit out of place when you can see Christmas lights twinkling in the background.

Another packed weekend coming up, but then I should have a few quiet days next week. I have lots of kitchen time planned and hopefully I'll manage to fit some sewing in as well. We're going super minimal with gifts (none between D and me, stockings only with the family), so I don't have much to do in that department but it's always nice to get a few little things made up.
So lovely. Have a great weekend Rachel!
ReplyDeletethey're kind of perfect with the lights twinkling behind them, actually! i like the minimal giftiness, too - that's what joe and i are doing as well, but we have yet to convince the parental types and a few holdout siblings that we can achieve general gift disarmament and scale down to stockings. i hope we get there at some point - the little stuff is the most fun, i think.
ReplyDelete@ lauren - You must convince them! We started stockings only with the family last year and it was wonderful. People who are low on money just do packages of cookies or treats or their favorite mustard. People who have a little more can do books or nice pens. No pile of wrapping paper to deal with at the end. I'm converted.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.....I love the idea of doing "stocking gifts only"! Mele Kalikimaka!
ReplyDeleteSounds nice... my boyfriend and I don't do gifts either... we save our money and go out to a nice restaurant together instead.
ReplyDeleteBisous,
Rachel

lovely! last night i received some paper whites from one of my music students. what a joy (and lovely scents!) tiny flowers can bring.
ReplyDeleteI adore freesia. And I LOVE the idea of scaling down to stockings, that would be perfect! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI grew up on a freesia farm and had to work there every weekend when I was a teenager... I'm so familiar with the flowers that seeing them within the context of someone elses life shocks me- it's like seeing a member of your family in another family's photo. Thankyou for giving me a bitter-sweet jolt.
ReplyDeleteI think the flowers are perfectly lovely, add a little springtime flare to the drudgery of winter.
ReplyDeletei love freesia -- the scent is intoxicating. xo
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are really pretty. We've always done low-key Christmases in our family, we never really understood spending hundreds of dollars for gifts that we will soon forget.
ReplyDeleteOOOO such an underrated flowers and oh so pretty!
ReplyDeletegorgeous pictures of these flowers. and agree-we just do secret santa with our family so everyone just has to buy one gift. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by to see if there were any new photos, but thought I'd stay long enough to wish you a merry christmas :)
