Yummy. I love your blog but never twigged until now that you were in S.California. I'm from Ireland and will be visiting S.California at the end of this month. I love art music and having a good laugh. Would you or any of your readers reccommend anywhere in particular to visit?
Fun! Do you know where you'll be going? I'm in Los Angeles so my recommendations (such as they are) would be specific to this city. San Diego is also a lot of fun, though! I'll have to see if I have a list of recs somewhere to share.
I will be based inbetween San Diego and LA but will be trying to take in as much of California as I can. Im going to San Francisco for a few days also. I cant wait.
Mega jealous... they look lush. Berlin fruit is not quite up to scratch it would appear :(
Love orange! I had 3 oranges this evening!
I love fresh orange juice; but for some reason, I can't stand oranges when they are in their original fruit form :)
Carla, that is so funny! I don't know if I've ever heard someone say this before.
citrus is just about my favorite thing in the universe; wish i was there!
And I wish they weren't so ridiculously heavy that it would be practical to ship you a huge box, dear!
I'm jealous of your fresh orange juice...currently I'm savoring grapefruit for breakfast!
I love grapefruit too! I would probably be buying some right now except I feel silly when I have an endless supply of free oranges to get through.
mmm...thanks for reminding me of another reason why i love LA. :)
Yum! Also: I'm super jealous. :)
Mmm, citrus. I've been eating clementines like crazy lately. I'm surprised I haven't turned orange yet, actually. (I might have eaten 12 in one day a couple weeks ago...)
Clementines are dangerous! You can go through them so quickly. I love them too.
citrus season in CA...we are so lucky.
I know! I still think citrus is really magical. Having something so bright and sweet when everything is still cold outside.
I'm at 3 a day too. So good!!
Your fridge drawers look just like mine- I love all this winter citrus, yum!
@Laura, I write an art blog and there are some great galleries in So Cal-- Skidmore Contemporary in L.A. is at the top of my list to visit when we get to So Cal. I'm sure Rachel can give you more recommendations!http://artsyforager.wordpress.com
Thank you. Your blog is really interesting. A real find.
I have so many dang oranges from our CSA that they don't fit in my fruit bowl. Luckily (sadly? not sure which) it takes like three of those babies to get a decent glass of juice!
Yep, so much work to juice them! We were always discouraged from juicing oranges (because it takes so many to get a glass of orange juice, and you don't get the fiber) except at this time of year, when the tree would produce so many that it was impossible to keep up with them otherwise. My family has a giant tree, so we harvest huge bags and then distribute them, if we can find anyone locally who isn't already overloaded.
Mmmm, there is no juice greater than that of fresh oranges :) xx -b.
i've been enjoying california oranges as well - sadly though, from afar. (ie. imported to canada!)
Citrus signals the end of winter and the start of summer. It's a refreshing welcome of the sunny season. Nice post!

This post has me craving citrus now! I know what's on my grocery list for this week! :)
