and it is, i would note, VEGETARIAN, which is glorious; so very many fancy and tasty cheeses aren't, thanks to rennet. totally with you on the humboldt fog love.
Oooh, love Humbolt Fog too. And it's ash-y vein down the center is just aesthetically cool looking, no? When we first tried it we described it as "musty boot" tasting...whatever that really means. But it quickly grew on us! I haven't had it in awhile...a nice reminder!
love it. we went to gjelina's in venice a few months ago (which if you haven't been, please go, so so good!) and had the braised baby artichokes with humboldt melted over the top. drool.
my favorite cheese, hands down. i want it now. i know what you mean, $19.99/lb! but maybe this is a good thing, if it was any cheaper, I'd eat a pound a day.
I'm a huge fan of Murray's Cheese Shop in NY and I've gotten Humboldt Fog a few times now! It was actually featured in Wine Spectator last year as one of the 50 best cheeses!
I've never heard of this before Rachel but it looks pretty! I made the mistake of checking out your link and now I have major cheese cravings going on! Such lovely sounding cheeses...
It sounds and looks just marvelous, I haven't tried it. Have you ever tried Point Reyes Blue cheese? Its really fantastic, my favorite blue (so far), and they have an excellent antique cheddar too.
It is absolutely my favorite cheese ever! I've never heard of anyone else buying it before, but I've introduced it to many of my friends and we're all hooked. I love that you love it too!
Trying captchas this time - better or worse than having to log in to comment? Let me know! Sorry for all the hoops but the spam has been terrible lately!
