Vases for Mother's Day.
Fun little odds and ends for my kitchen cupboard.
{lotus bowls, no name paper thin porcelain bowls, japanese bowls with lids, danish porcelain bowls with yellow tulip edging}
We had these lotus bowls growing up (anyone else? apparently they were quite the rage) and now I pick them up whenever I see them.
I was out the door for only $25. You have to love the thrift store.
This is another reason to be excited about moving to LA - apparently the city enjoys the best thrift stores in the country! Nice finds!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your blog- I am a new reader- just discovered you and I'm having so much fun catching up on your archives. You are so creative and your photos are lovely! I live in Bangkok- sadly no thrift shops here! Candice
ReplyDeleteI've never seen those lotus bowls, but how cute! Hmm, Texas thrifting is not as awesome as LA thrifting, I'm thinking...
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight! I love the lotus bowls you found! What great finds!

ReplyDeletereminds me that I need to make a weekly visit! :) beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to spend a day looking around our local thrift shops too. I'll keep my eye out for some of those bowls. I bet the mothers in your life were happy to get those vases full of flowers.
ReplyDeletecheers!
Definitely love the lotus bowls, but also the Japanese bowls. Very cute. You're a true treasure hunter!
ReplyDeleteIf I had room for it, the aftermath of my every trip to the thrift stores and antique shops would be similar to this. But alas, I have to be extremely choosy, since I have such a small kitchen and very little storage. Love all the lovely little bowls you found!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is gorgeous! I love thrifting, and I also can't get enough tea cups and cake stands. And, I live much too close to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. It's trouble.
ReplyDeleteThose are some amazing finds!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!!
ReplyDeleteWe had those bowls also, I remember putting ketchup and other dipping sauces in them. I passed a Salvation Army yesterday and thought of you. I went in and poked around, didn't get anything but saw some pretty good items.
ReplyDeletei'm new to the area and trying to scout out some good thrift stores. i am pretty sure you live on the west side? any suggestions for this newbie?
ReplyDeletelove a good thrift trip.
ReplyDeletei have those same lotus bowls i picked up thrifting.. i've noticed i use them for my candy cravings a lot... love them!
Nice finds. Our thirft stores are few and far between in Huntington Beach, CA. sadly, they hardly ever have old vintage stuff.
ReplyDeletethese lotus bowls are everywhere but in my cupboard - and i need them there!
ReplyDeletei heart the thrift store to death - and you've found such great stuff!
I love those bowls. Growing up my mom had large ones and small ones. Over the years they broke, but I remember her using them for little condiment bowls if she was having a party. Very sweet. You made out like a bandit!
ReplyDeleteWe had lotus bowls. We used them for all of the time.
ReplyDeletethose arrangements are beautiful! i need to hire you!
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty lotus bowls. You are a thrift shopping queen.
ReplyDeleteLovely finds.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing what treasures others have found.
I certainly do love the thrift store (or opp shop as we call it here). I had some great finds on an outing this past week, which I will share next week on my blog.
Would you say that you were bowled over by the thrift and style?
ReplyDeleteAhahaha

ReplyDeletewow! You did amazing well. And those flowers are just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI love the vase on the far left. I gave you an award on my blog today. Pretty sure I qualify as a blog dork.
ReplyDeletethe lotus bowls are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about lotus bowls in ages. I had dark blue bowls that were white inside. Now I wonder where those are? I love scourring around thrift shops. We have two good shops nearby... but I'm downsizing and clearing out! I must remind myself of this constantly!
ReplyDeletewhat great finds......
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
I'm most impressed by your thrift store finds Rachel and I can't get over how beautiful all those flowers are. They look great in all those different vases. Your lotus bowls are really cute also - obviously a good day thrifting!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bowls, what great finds! I wish I could stumble across goodies like that, it seems to be increasingly difficult, I think everyone is on the same trail!
