If you are trying to avoid buying anything do not drink two margaritas with your girlfriends and then aimlessly wander into...1. Urban Outfitters
2. Anthropologie
3. Gap *
And then definitely don't go onto their websites to find pictures to post on your blog or you run the risk of finding even more things that you want, like...
4. Gap (online only)
Just saying.
(No, I didn't buy anything - but it hurt a little).
*I only went into Gap because I had to go to the bathroom, and they are the only ones who have a bathroom and I didn't even expect to see anything good because I've found them moderately disappointing over the last few years and they've pretty much fallen off my list. Until now.

Aww... then you need to treat yourself for being so good.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it- when we aren't shopping we find so many pretties... and when we are off on a shopping jaunt-we find nothing that appeals???
wow, that would be hard. way to go for being strong! I did much better this week.
ReplyDeleteaww, these are tooo cute! I esp love that first dress! Way to go on willpower, though!
ReplyDeletei really was blown away that you were able to walk past that perfect yellow dress from u.o.
ReplyDeletetalk about tempting.
ReplyDeletei am so impressed that you didn't give in!
way to stick with it.
ps. this weekend i found a frame to do your chalkboard project! i'm excited. it was only 2 bucks.
I am so feeling your pain. It's not easy to pass on all those amazing finds. One day things will turn around and we'll all be able to flex those shopping muscles again. I can't wait for that day. My clothes are getting lonely for new friends.
ReplyDeleteThis is great Rachel 9 weeks! What do you do if a friend has a birthday? Just curious. Enjoy your day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the Gap, I worked a stint there years ago and have loathed it ever since and then last week I went and bought a pair of their new lovely low rise boot cut and very cute black tee with the slightest ruffles around the neck and sleeves. . . okay totally not helping your cause! Way to be strong.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the Gap. The only major score I have had there over the past few years is two great denim skirts, one in white and the other in blue. Perfect straight skirts to pair with tee shirts and cardigans- my summer uniform.
ReplyDeleteYour self-control is very impressive!
ReplyDeleteVery. Impressive!
I feel your pain. I have been craving a trip to Anthro but I know I will not be able to leave without purchasing a cute spring dress for $100+
ReplyDeleteYou're my non-purchasing hero.
Wow, I could not hold back. I just can't look. Too tempting!
ReplyDeleteyes, one would stay out of those stores....but I can't.
ReplyDeleteI love that long drapey sweater! It would be divine with a belt over it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for resisting! Two cocktails and I'd have zero willpower in most stores!
ReplyDeletethanks for your note...i had to bust my no shopping thing to buy the dirt & veggies...since it's going to turn into groceries, does that count? ha.
ReplyDeletei can't even go near anthropologie, so you are much stronger than i am.
Oh Rachel. You are too funny! I can see why those pieces were all so tempting. And I am also totally on the same page with you regarding the GAP!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. Stay strong! :)
ReplyDeletelittle known fact: the gap marketing department places margarita places in the near vicinity of gap locations in the hopes that it'll entrap hapless wanderers in search of a bathroom.
ReplyDeleteit's pretty much how they've made their fortune.
(true story.)
Why not whip up some of your own clever creations.
ReplyDeleteYou do that so well, and then you would have everyone green with envy, saying things like, "You made that?" Wow you are soooo talented.....yadda...
pve
ohhh, ouchies! That dress is pretty hottie tottie.
ReplyDeleteOh, you are too funny. I love this post! All things considered, you showed some real self control!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I want number 1 & 2!
ReplyDeleteso proud of you
ReplyDelete.....i feel exactly the same way about gap. hadn't bought anything there in forever and now i find myself wandering in whenever i'm in the mall. they sent me a coupon last week, and i ordered the cutest top before i could stop myself....
michelle
