I picked up this pretty little wildflower-y bouquet at TJs this week and decided to split the three components into separate bottles.
I know the yellow flower is aster, but I have no idea what the blue and purple pretties are. They remind me of a country roadside in summer.
I can feel summer fading already, and I'm torn between loving the transition and feeling a little sad. Of course, you never know around here. We'll probably get hit with a crazy heat wave in November and I'll be shaking my fist at the sky. Southern California is so exciting that way.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
Lovely- and a nice way to spread the lovliness around. The blue flowers might be delphinium. Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow is Goldenrod (I think). The blue ones are delphinium and the purple ones are some sort of Campanula commonly called Bellflower.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful.
beautiful! they look gorgeous separated into those two bottles. you have the best taste.
ReplyDeletewell there you go with the names. :) I love wild flower bouquets and I wish we had a TJs here...instead we have Fresh Market and they've been stuck on roses, sunflowers and mums. Nothing exciting.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend.
The top photo is GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteAw are those foxglove? I love those. Another flower I think is different to have is snapdragon. Beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteHee, I totally love the stacks of ribbons next to the pretty flowers-bottle combo, too :D!
ReplyDeleteI love friday flowers - cheers me up after a long week. thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI always feel a little sad to see summer go, but also so gosh darn excited about fall. It's such a lovely season.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, friend.
Oh, I know that crazy CA weather. It seems like Fall is here, then the Santa Ana winds come, and it changes everything! At least there will be less fires...
ReplyDeletea lovely weekend to you as well, dear! i too love the friday flowers - crafted this week in honor of them, in fact.
ReplyDeleteFor my bday, I just received a sweet bouquet of brilliant blue-violet delphiniums mixed with 2 calla lilies, red cockscomb & trailing green things. A funky combo but love it. Also a fan of splitting up grocery store bouquets to spread around the house. I love seeing the corners of your sweet home-good weekend to you too!
ReplyDeleteLove them!!!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow is in the aster family, but it's called solidago. The light blue is delphinium, and the purple is campanula, often called canterbury bell! All are lovely in your little bottles!
ReplyDeletelove your flowers. and i'm feeling the same way about changing seasons. except i might be shaking my fist at the sky next week, which is when we are supposed to get some snow.
ReplyDeletethat awesome blue-green color on the wall in your house is so pretty. what is it?
Love the bottles!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo. I cannot wait to start buying flowers for my college apartment. I think we are going to the Farmers Market tomorrow to get sunflowers!!! =D
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are great but I LOVE the brown bottles that they are in!
ReplyDeletePretty flowers Rachel, funny I was also thinking the same about the changing seasons because summer is fading pretty quickly here and I want to hang on to it just a little longer...
ReplyDeleteHey Rachel, hope you are enjoying your weekend. xoxo
