Friday flowers

in season
{in season}

You all knew those were coming, right? Sorry to be so predictable but I couldn't resist. I don't think I saw those crazy coral ones last year.

They've actually held up pretty well all week, but they attracted some fruit flies (totally weird) and I happen to have a mild fruit fly phobia. Which is particularly mock-worthy for someone who spends all her time in labs, I know. I think I was traumatized growing up with a large backyard full of fruit trees.

Anyways, the peonies are very pretty and refreshing the water every day or two helps.

  1. They are beautiful :) I have an ant phobia. I. Hate. Ants. Long story short, I lived in a REALLY REALLY OLD house last year (coughcoughmyparentscough) and I don't remember why but I came home from work and sat on my bed, which I noticed was MOVING. It was covrered in ants. I make the effort to stamp on ants. I hate them.

  3. If you continue to have fruit flies, just put a bit of apple cider vinegar in a small dish with plastic wrap over it. Poke some holes in it with a toothpick and voila! Instant fruit fly trap.

  4. My friend gave me a bouquet of the lighter pink ones (with the yellow center) for my birthday. So beautiful but so stinky! For a few hours, I thought my hubby had really bad breath!

  5. Love the coral! And I have a phobia of ants, any kind, which most people think is very strange, so I totally get your mild fruit fly phobia.
