{sunday eggs}
{waffles + strawberries}
{freesia}
{garlic knot}
A quick trip to the farmer's market yielded fresh eggs, strawberries and cheap freesia (flower season is really getting going!).
We were ready to eat at a completely awkward time on Sunday evening and took advantage of it to slip into Milo and Olive before the crowds hit. The garlic knot was totally worth it, even though I was afraid to get too close to anyone for the rest of the evening, lest I knock them out with my breath.
Garlic knots sound amazing, :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend to me!!
ReplyDeletei've said ti before but your simplicity in blogging is beautiful. i love your chats and photos- thanks for the everyday inspiration. i would love a recipe for that garlic knot- looks delicious! thanks!
ReplyDeleteI definitely will be attempting to recreate the garlic knot at home - if I'm successful, you guys will hear about it!
DeleteThe concept is really simple. I'm pretty sure they pre-roast the garlic cloves whole in a lot of good olive oil and then just bundle them up in some pizza dough. I just need to figure out what dough works best for it.
Oh my goodness, that garlic knot looks like heaven. YUM.
ReplyDeleteflowers wrapped in brown paper = beautiful
ReplyDeleteThat garlic knot looks awesome! Sorry your weekend was stressful...I understand :)
ReplyDeleteI went to Milo & Olive last time I was in LA in Feb! It was amazing and I'm still wishing that there was one in Chicago. You can see my pics from my dinner at M&O here: http://glorioffood.com/2012/02/22/city-of-angels/
ReplyDeleteI love farmers markets! Those waffles + strawberries look so delicious.

ReplyDeletethat garlic knot looks seriously amazing! i love the beauty and simplicity of your blog. it really is lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, that garlic knot! looks like totally my thing.
ReplyDeleteI love how beautifully you're able to capture so many moments of your life. Do you ever feel awkward taking your camera to restaurants and such? I have once or twice but felt so self-conscious! I wish I could get over it.
ReplyDeleteHa! I actually rarely photograph in restaurants for this reason. Way too awkward. But every once in a while I'll grab a quick shot. My only rules are that it can't interrupt the meal and I won't go out of my way to get the right camera angle (no getting out of my seat!). If I can't get a decent (stealthy) photo in a few seconds, I just give up. I don't want to ruin the moment too much.
DeleteGreat photos, but now I'm hungry, :-) Be Well, Katherine
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that your weekend was stressful. But you did find some lovely ways to spend some of your time. Cooking,fresh flowers ( love them) farmers market, and oh that waffle with strawberries, yum! I hope your week is a positive one. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThe garlic knot looks delicious. We usually back garlic in the oven with some olive oil and THEN we spread it on fresh bread...if we have it. This knot solves the missing bread problem! Cannot wait to read the recipe.
