We drove up the coast for a weekend full of wedding activities and old friends.
As part of the wedding party, I didn't get as many pictures as I might have otherwise, but it was amazing to be right there as my friend of 18 years (!) got married. D and I both went to school with her from fourth grade all through high school, so we both had a wonderful time catching up with old friends. Oh, and I got to wear fake eyelashes, which always makes me happy. I'm a minimalist when it comes to make up, but I will go for drag queen eyelashes whenever there is a halfway decent excuse.
The wedding was on a nature preserve, nowhere near anything, so a lot of us camped after the wedding and woke up to share (seriously excellent) breakfast burritos with the bride and groom. I treated myself to a single cup of glorious coffee (my first since the caffeine hiatus started just over two months ago), because a chilly morning at a gorgeous campsite wouldn't be complete without one.

ReplyDeleteI love all of this, especially the idea of camping afterwards is the sweetest idea. I can't believe you've been on a caffeine hiatus for two months! I die after one day of withdrawal symptoms. I'll give it another shot soon, until classes start again and I need a late night of studying. :)
ReplyDeletePS. I love drag eyelashes too and using any excuse to wear them. They always give me that glamorous touch.

It makes me supremely happy that you wear false eyelashes. xo
ReplyDelete@ Julia - they are! The bride is a marine ecologist, so she collected all the abalone shells and then planted them with moss and succulents. She is the most intense DIYer that I've ever met.
ReplyDeleteI too am on a caffeine hiatus so can only imagine how wonderous that coffee must have been...*looks at decaff coffee with disdain*
ReplyDeletemy idea of perfection
that sounds fantastic! camping after the wedding must have been so much fun!
