Lately

Work, work, Walking Dead marathon (!), work, family, krav maga, work, miserable cold, work, parties, work, NEW BUDGET, cocktails, work.

You're all caught up!

The year is off to a great start, actually. I've just been slammed with new projects at work and then prioritizing all my free time with people I love. I'm tired and we're eating scrambled eggs at least four nights a week and I'm not particularly inspired at the moment but I know it will pass when things ease up and right now I'm just enjoying where I am.

You should know I can't take any credit for those gorgeous appetizer plates but I did eat about 20 of the bite sized wedge salads. So clever.

Posting will probably continue to be sporadic until this work cycle is over but I miss being here and I have a few things I want to share soon. I haven't opened up my Google Reader since a few weeks before Christmas and I'm terrified. I know I should just delete and move on but I hate missing out on everything you guys have been doing so I keep telling myself I'll set aside time to at least skim through but then it doesn't happen. Someday soon.

    1. We have this little Delonghi. It was a wedding gift from a friend who apparently knew we'd need espresso before we did. We've been using it daily (twice each day, actually, because I drink decaf and D drinks caffeinated) for the last 6 - 8 months and so far it's been a little workhorse! I'm really happy with it and we're now addicted to making lattes at home.

      I miss you guys!

I think life tends to cycle like that, you will be back to having more time and come back soon!

    1. Hi, Kelly! We have this Delonghi and it's great. I have a little more detail above but feel free to ask if you have any questions. I did zero research since it was gift, so I can't tell you what comparable machines are like but we love it. I'm not sure we'll ever be a house without espresso again.

    2. thank you! do you use any specific kind of beans/grounds? I have been drinking caffeine again but don't love how it makes me feel. I should try some caffeine free.

    3. My standard is the Intelligentsia decaf Black Cat espresso. I grind it at home, espresso fine, enough for a couple days at a time.

I recently tried out LAMILL decaf espresso and liked it quite well but it seemed a little lighter? I'm not a coffee expert by any means, so I might not be the best person to ask!

I'm going to try Handsome coffee next, I think.

I like having so many options to try out and the nice thing is that we save enough money making it at home that it's easy to justify buying a nicer coffee.
