:: Notes ::
One of my favorite breakfasts lately is to just heat up whatever leftover roasted veggies we have in the fridge and toss a poached egg on top. Saturday was roasted mushrooms + cauliflower + asparagus. It's a good way to use up those odds and ends.
The weather was so shockingly warm on Friday that I started itching to get our patio ready for spring. We spent Saturday cleaning it up and hanging some lights and then drank some rattlers (a friend christened the habanero tequila-grapefruit juice mix that we're all obsessed with the rattler, and it's sticking).
We've been messing around with our apartment, replacing a few things. Details forthcoming. Currently everything is in a state of disrepair, as is wont to happen during projects.
I spent Sunday afternoon making saag paneer at home because we had a huge excess of spinach that needed to be used up (sorry - no real recipe, because it was based off several different ones and modified a bit - but you can read about the paneer process here) and then we drank a fancy bottle of beer to celebrate a productive weekend. And watched GCB - I think it has promise, for sure. But you might want to take that with a grain of salt, because I have been loving Revenge (so pleasantly soapy!) and apparently no one else agrees with me.
I really like Revenge too! I missed a chunk in the middle, but am trying to catch back up.
ReplyDeleteUm Revenge was the best new show from the fall season! Every woman in my family is obsessed. How they are going to keep it going for more than this year is puzzling though.
ReplyDeleteOh and I live in the East and it's been cold but I've been waiting to try that rattler (yes, I'll now call it that, too) for when the weather is warmer.
Yes! I wonder about this - will they try to spin it out or try to dig up new people?
DeleteI agree with you, I'm loving Revenge too. But I have yet to watch GCB... I'll get on that.
ReplyDeleteRevenge is AMAZING, obsessed too!

That looks like such a delicious breakfast!
ReplyDeleteWow, that photo just made me sooo hungry! Such a delicious idea.
ReplyDeleteGCB definitely has promise! It also really clears up some pseudo-Yankee head-tilting I've been experiencing whenever my sister-in-law, from Texas, asks me to go to church with her and my brother-in-law. I GET IT NOW.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Revenge. I consider it sometimes, but then I feel like Madeline Stowe's face needs to move more/at all. EEP! It's like watching Nicholas Cage.
There is something disturbing about her face in the show - it's set in this eerie smile THE ENTIRE TIME. It used to freak me out but now I kind of like it.
DeleteI love Revenge. I know it's not technically good TV but I still enjoy watching it. Just started watching GCB and yes, it has major promise!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Revenge! It's my favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE revenge!
ReplyDeleteI love getting the place all ready for spring. Those cafe lights are neat. So are your photos. You take such great pictures.

Yay for all my fellow Revenge fans! I was so sad when they said that they won't have new episodes till April. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteI love Revenge! The only thing that I don't care for on the show is Eric van der Woodsen pretending to be Declan. He annoys me to no end. I love Nolan. And It's nice to see Madeleine Stowe working again (and not wearing those restrictive bandage dresses as much though it fits her character's emotions).
ReplyDeletemy sister talked me into catching up on revenge in the fall, we love it! sure it's a guilty pleasure, but feel no shame, i know a ton of people watching too!
ReplyDeleteRevenge is my favorite show on TV!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend
