No major temptations in week seven. I'm a bit itchy to buy some new tights, because we keep having cold snaps in between summer-like days. Tights are like tearaway velcro pants, but classier. Because I can potentially put them on under a dress and then if the weather goes crazy and warms up I can take them off (in a bathroom stall - not quite as dramatic as the tearaway pants, I'll admit) and shove them in my purse.
Yesterday we had a little rainstorm and there was a girl on the bus wearing chevron tights like the ones above from Modcloth. So cute with her rainboots. If I were a bit bolder, I might go for the floral ones and pair them with a white dress. Way more spring-y. Although I'm not sure I could convince myself to spend $30 on a pair of tights, even if I weren't banned from shopping at the moment.

i might give the shopping hiatus a go!
ReplyDeleteLove the floral ones!
ReplyDeleteI love those tights from Madcloth. I have wanted a pair like them. I think I might take the plunge and purchase some for myself :)
ReplyDeleteanthro has hue tights on sale now. it's that 4 letter S A L E that always does me in.
ReplyDeleteI love those tights on the right. You're doing so well, stay strong! xo

Just last week I wore tights and then took them off when the weather warmed up later that day and shoved them in my purse. I was thinking then what a magical accessory they are!
ReplyDeletehaha i love the idea of you wearing tear-away velcro pants...perhaps i'll find you a cute, floral pair as a little compromise.
ReplyDeletetoo fun! you will rock those!

I often take shopping hiatuses too. I find that shopping my own closet makes me appreciate the pieces I do own and forces me to find clever new ways to wear them :)
ReplyDeleteI love wearing tights with boots! It's been my staple this winter, when I haven't been wearing skinny jeans with boots. :) So awesome how it was so blustery and rainy yesterday morning and then cleared up to gorgeousness in the afternoon, right? I've been winning on cheap tights by going to TJ Maxx, they have all kinds of nice brands. My favorites are patterned ones by Betsey Johnson, so comfy!
ReplyDeleteAch you're a better woman than me. I ordered a whole bunch of succulents this week. I'm convincing myself that growing things have immunity, but I feel guilty nonetheless.
ReplyDeletei love the flowered tights...i'm just not that brave. we did have someone come in the office in some similar with a plain shift dress. it was smashing. i was so jealous. (well, the best kind of jealous in that i wished i looked as cute)
ReplyDeleteAh, tights <3
ReplyDeleteStockings are a bit easier here because it's warm, but i can deal with wearing tights because i love them so much. i love floral and coloured tights with a plain dress or skirt and blouse and coordinated jewellery/belt/scarf. Tights/stockings just do so much to complete an outfit, i think.
tear away pants!!! hahahahaha! yeah, I wish I hadn't gotten rid of all of the super warm, yummy leggings that I had from the nineties. you know, now that they are all back in style. I held on to them for so long. I had these great chocolate brown velvet ones. so warm and comfy on a day like today (and yesterday, and the day before)- rainy.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine velcro would be that comfy to sit on...
sending you hiatus-strength — I'm on one too, preparing for a trip to Europe next month.
ReplyDeleteincidentally — I picked up almost exactly the same tights at forever 21 (the flower'd ones went to my adventuresome sister). they carried them in december, which may mean absolutely nothing now, but perhaps they're still on the website.
