I was, however, able to recall your rave review of Now is the Hour, and checked it out. Excellent recommendation--it was heartbreaking and funny at the same time. (Thank you!) Also picked up Animal's People by Indra Sinha, which I would recommend as well.Sloanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04940371079278008682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1452621549434169941.post-68704236290366718562009-08-29T20:02:45.019-07:002009-08-29T20:02:45.019-07:00Hey, thanks for the tip, I love a great recommenda...Hey, thanks for the tip, I love a great recommendation.style-for-stylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01373847736850227155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1452621549434169941.post-32589243697580990402009-08-29T10:50:16.227-07:002009-08-29T10:50:16.227-07:00I have 'Drowning Ruth' here on my bookshel...I have 'Drowning Ruth' here on my bookshelf, it's a few years since I read it so I might just go and search it out. It takes place in the same time period around WWI, a time so long ago. But it remains timely as a fearless telling of the costs of war. And it tells, perhaps, the most tender love story I've ever read.
