The weekend, sort of

These are the only pictures I took this last weekend. Probably because they were the only quiet moments in what was otherwise a complete whirlwind. We ran errands, packed and unpacked boxes, went to our 10 year high school reunion and just barely managed to get home in time to actually cook something for the first time in a week. (We squeezed that beer tasting in by calling it a wedding errand - we needed to figure out our beer order and we thought it only right to explore a local option)

The wedding is rushing towards us and we're trying to make headway on our lists and figure out our logistics, like who will take what box where and when. It's the less glamorous part of planning, but I think it's the most important. Usually I think we're doing pretty well. I'm slashing projects right and left and generally feeling okay about it. But every once in a while one or the other of us gets socked in the gut with that panicked feeling of not having enough time. We'll get there.

Obviously, there will be no schedule around here at all for the next two weeks. I have a few wedding-y things that I have written and still want to share with you and some others will have to wait until after the wedding. And I'll probably pop in with rants/updates, on a random basis.

  3. I so know how you feel, we planned our own wedding by ourselves and it was a ton of work but the most rewarding and best day of my life!

  4. Good luck navigating the whirlwind that is the final stretch towards the wedding! I remember that panicked feeling well... take comfort in the fact that all your loved ones really want is to be there for you - and how could it be anything other than extremely special and fun?

  6. You make rushing around look very pretty and not at all rushed.

What is that delicious mix of things in the third photo?

  7. In my experience, once it's all said and done, you never remember the more tedious parts of planning the wedding. You only end up remembering how beautiful and special your wedding was. I literally can't remember any of the planning part! Which, I think...is a very good thing!

  9. I'm getting married in 2 weeks as well, and everything is starting to feel like a blur! Reading your blog has been incredibly therapeutic these past few weeks as we rapidly approach 9/10/11, so take comfort that your wedding rush is really helping others. :) Best wishes to you and your future husband. I know you'll have an amazing day!

  10. Always good when you can rationalize a beer tasting. ;) My sister is getting married this weekend and I can barely hold it together myself. Somehow, it all gets done though. I swear.

  11. I just got married on August 6th and I know exactly how you feel! The whole organizational piece was absolutely the most boring part of planning the wedding - but well worth it! It's awful for people helping out when everything is all disorganized! Anyways, wish you the best of luck :)
