Weekend + no shopping update (week 6)

I'm happy to say that resisting temptation was pretty easy last week. I am still not going into stores, because I can't completely trust myself with a sale rack, but I've managed to avoid online buying despite browsing. I don't even have any huge shopping dilemmas to share with you. You would think it gets harder as you go along, but it's actually easier than it was the first couple of weeks.

The weekend was lovely - overcast with just a bit of sun, not too warm, but nice enough to sit outside for a couple hours over coffee and do some serious people watching. The orange trees are in bloom, which makes the air smell heavenly.

The poor apricot tree keeps getting fooled by our brief warm spells and thinks it's time for spring.

And the camillas are back in full force.

I also did a bit of baking - I'll share later this week.

  12. I'm also on a 'no shopping' thing! Only for all of february, although I might extend it for March. I just avoid the shops too - but it's so hard to resist browsing online.

  14. One way to avoid sales is to put that money or a bit of it away in a cookie jar or the bank and see just how much you can save. I also think pictures of places like India and other countries that have so little - yet live with such gratitude.
Plus your lovely photos around me make me feel so thankful that Spring is near.

  16. I am following along with the spending hiatus as well. I had to to go Target on Saturday but went with a list and it was a fairly productive event. I do feel as though it has gotten easier as the weeks go by. Your blog is really pretty. I look forward to looking around some more...erinn

  21. It is so good to be back in California, and your beautiful photo set captures our little burst of Spring so well. There's nothing like the scent of orange blossoms, fresh cut grass, the ocean, ah, home.
